Hot glue mating velcro to each side of a 1/2 inch washer or hot glue two washers together and glue the velcro to each side of the two.

This makes a weight which you can stick to the velcro on the corner of the hood

Then when you want the corner of the hood up you can just stick it up in place weight and all. (The corner is turned up so you can see what I mean.)
